Goddess
of the Night
Light
of liquid silver beckons,
calling me into the
enveloping embrace of night.
Under her forgiving gaze
I hide, protected
from the world of garish light,
now forever held at bay.
At night I come alive
and revel in the loving arms
of the Goddess of the Night.
What
society has come to fear
has come to reside in me,
as my heart fills with the melody
only found in darkness,
and forever lost
to the children of the light.
What
so many do not understand
has come to guide my life,
as I follow the Goddess’ silvery path,
a path only known to those
who like me
lie beyond the accepted,
forever shunned by those who live in light,
but who follow
the Goddess of the Night.

After the Full Moon
Not a
hand's turn of work will now be done
It is the time for silences and love
And for embracing by the early sun
With a Greek chorus by the mourning dove
Last
night the springtime moon was round and full
And I could see her eyes were drawn to it
Its shine was strong as was its tidal pull
Which guided her where the clear path was lit
My Celestine
put on her fateful mask
And as Selene wandered in the night
By woodland wolf-tracks to her savage pasque
Where for a time our senses took to flight
But now
I say it is the time to rest
That untamed nature coursing in her breast.

The Awakening
Feel
the sunlight enter your body
From the neck downwards,
Feel life returning
To a limbless torso,
A palsied hand.
Now the
hills demist,
Now the trees shed their grey apparel,
Take on clearest outline.
Rivers snake through valleys; lakes glint.
You saunter
into the garden,
Imbibe beauty.
Sunlight that brought the fruit
To Harvest Home
Now lifts your spirit,
Induces dance.
Even
were you to have no possessions,
This truth could never be taken from you.
These oaks, crowded with rooks,
These fields, alive with partridge,
Form an overwintering image:
There
is a resonance here,
A faith that can never die.
